The Problem
Documenting and sharing recipes can be difficult among generations, as our parents and grandparents usually use unconventional ways to store their recipes. There often aren’t any exact measurements, and there are sometimes language barriers that add further complexity.
The Problem
After collecting old letters, notes and birthday cards, I was able to create a typeface of my Abuela's handwriting using Adobe Illustrator and Font Forge. This typeface would be used as titles for each designed artifact.
Personas & Journey Maps
For the personas, we focused on 2 generations of women in a greek family. There is Anastasia, an international college student, her mom Sarah. The app is intended for all generations, as long as they have a recipe to share.

An app that takes family recipes and digitizes them into a legible and shareable format. Some features include: creating recipes from scratch, a link, or scanning a photo/video with AI, discover new recommended recipes, shopping list & ingredient map to locate hard to find ingredients, inbox to share and receive recipes.

With Love
To wrap up our Experience Design Studio 1 class at Northeastern, groups of 3 designers were tasked create an experience that utilized Artificial Intelligence. The criteria was wide open, but in a brainstorm, we fell in love with the idea of an app where you could collect and share recipes between family and friends. This concept would also take on a cultural significance, where family recipes never get lost through generations.
